TIMES & DIRECTIONS

 Here is what to expect in our weekly worship service.

Our weekly worship service usually lasts between 70-90 minutes. We worship in many different ways, but we try to do so in a consistent pattern:

1. We always begin by speaking together in the Call to Worship. Our Call to Worship comes from Scripture, reminding us that we gather to worship in response to God’s invitation.

2. Knowing that we have gathered intentionally, we welcome our sisters and brothers around us in the grace and peace of Christ.

3. As we continue, we seek unity in God as we remember, retell, and reenact his story through song, prayer, Scripture, and giving together.

4. We hear a portion of the Scriptures read and speak together a word of thanks to God for the gift of his word to us.

5. Our pastor shares a 20-30 minute sermon, explaining the text we just heard and its implications for how we follow Jesus in our daily lives.

6. Following the sermon, we respond to the Word together in any of several ways: sometimes singing, praying, reflecting, or receiving Holy Communion.

7. After the response, our pastor offers a benediction (blessing) and sends us out as a church, living out the mission of God: the redemption of the world.
