The Cove (Grades K-6th Grade)

Children in grades K-6th worship together through song and prayer before the 4th – 6th graders are dismissed to their own lesson time in the Rich Friendship Center (Gym). The K-3rd graders stay in The Cove for their lesson. Throughout the year, we have exciting Missions Lessons in which all K-6th graders stay together in The Cove to learn and worship together.

During the summer months of June-August, all K-6th graders attend Worship Service with their parents. These months give kids the opportunity to see their parents worship and be part of the church body as a whole. We also have quarterly Intergenerational Family Services in which all ages worship together during the Worship Service. Our children’s Choirs sing on these Sunday’s as well.

  • Your child’s safety is very important to us! All Sparta Naz volunteers are required to take our “Reduce the Risk” class as well as pass background checks. We also have a “2 Adult Rule” meaning that we always require two people in all classrooms. During both our Sunday School and Worship Hour, we have hall monitors patrolling the building to ensure the safety of our congregation. Radios are delivered to each children’s area so teachers can be notified quickly and efficiently of any potential dangers.

  • Child Check-in and Check-Out
    • Here at Sparta Naz, we use Planning Center Check-Ins. This is an online-based check-in system that is quick and easy!
      • Check-In:
        • All first-time guests will be helped by our Children’s Ministry desk worker to input your names and phone numbers into the system before printing nametags for each of your children. Next time you come, you may use our self-check-in station by simply typing in your phone number and printing name tags for each of your children. Our desk workers are always happy to assist you if need be! All children’s nametags are printed with a code on them. An extra tag with that same code is printed for parents to take.
      • Check-Out:
        • To check out your children, the code tag printed with their nametags must be presented to the desk worker. Pictures of tags are acceptable if one parent drops off and another parent picks up. If no code tag is presented, we will ask you to go get it if possible, or we will ask to see your driver's license. On Sunday mornings after Worship Service, 4th – 6th Grade students are permitted to be dismissed from their class to go find their parents. All other children must be check-out by a parent with the code tag.
